Dan Larson allowed Rich Pawlak to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the Kimberton Firefighters bested the reeling Eagle Eagles 9-3 at Hickory
Park.
Jose Cruz had a big day with his bat. He laced a single in the 1st inning and
cleared the bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 3rd inning. Kimberton
finished with 14 hits in the victory.
Larson(3-1) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Rick
Reuschel(4-5) took the loss. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 5
hits and 2 walks.

Jim Barr tossed a complete game at Bentley Stadium where the Elverson Squires
beat the Glenmoore Stableboys by the score of 9-2.
Barr(5-5) delivered a fine performance for Elverson. He surrendered 7 hits
and 1 walk in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.24 to 4.00. Elverson had 10
hits for the night.
Mickey Lolich(2-3) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering
7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. With this win, Elverson has a 23-26 record.
They have been 6-4 lately. With the loss, Glenmoore has a record of 5-5
lately, 22-23 overall.

Jim Rooker completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Chester
Springs club won a heart-stopping victory over the Devault Dynamiters, 5-3.
Chester Springs had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Lee Lacy led off and got things going when he
doubled. Two outs later Jose Cardenal came up and he cleared the fences for
a two-run home run giving Chester Springs the win as 793 happy fans joyfully
celebrated. Chester Springs totaled 10 hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Rooker(2-4) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Bruce
Sutter(3-2) was charged with the loss in relief.

Ray Burris was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game and Willie Stargell hit 2 doubles and scored 3 times as the Honey Brook
Beekeepers topped the struggling Guthriesville Golddiggers by a score of 9-3
at Hopewell Field.
Burris(3-6) pitched a fine game. He went 9 innings and surrended up 6 hits
and 3 walks. Honey Brook rapped out 15 hits for the night.
Bob Apodaca(2-2) absorbed the loss. 'Thankfully we got ourselves a win',
Burris said. 'It's great to be back on the winning side of things.'

Joe Wallis cracked a homer and had 2 RBI at Foster Field where the Marshallton
Mad Hatters beat the Lionville ballclub 4-3.
Marshallton wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring one
runner. Lionville had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.
The victory went to Brent Strom(5-3) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Rawly Eastwick earned the save, his 9th. Randy Jones(9-1) was tagged with
the loss.
'You have to give Lionville credit, they fought us tough to the end' John
Young said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
