In a tight game it was the Glenmoore Stableboys 4, the pitiful Honey Brook
Beekeepers 2 at Bentley Stadium.
 
Glenmoore took the lead for good in the 2nd inning scoring one runner.
Glenmoore rapped out 9 hits for the night.  
 
The victory went to Gene Garber(7-3) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Bob Knepper(4-9) was the loser.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9
hits and 1 walk.
 
ELVERSON AT LIONVILLE, 1st

Bob Forsch was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Foster Field as the Elverson Squires beat the Lionville club by the
count of 7-3.
 
Forsch(10-7) gave Elverson a solid outing.  He surrendered 7 hits and 3 walks
in 9 innings.  Elverson had 13 hits for the night.  
 
The loss was charged to Bruce Kison(6-8).  He got hammered, allowing 9 hits
and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Right fielder Ellis Valentine rocketed 2 homeruns as the Lionville team were
badly beaten by the Elverson Squires, 11-1.
 
Valentine provided much of the offense.  He blasted a solo shot in the 1st
inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 5th inning and caught a hold of a bad
pitch for a Grand Slam homerun in the 7th inning.  Elverson had 17 hits
overall, while Lionville had 9.  
 
The victory was credited to Ed Halicki(11-9) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Max Leon(4-5) absorbed the loss.
