Al Oliver had 3 base hits as the Elverson Squires defeated the Kimberton
Firefighters 8-4 at Kimberton Fairground.
Al Hrabosky(5-4) won the game with a masterful relief performance. He didn't
give up much, just 1 hit and 1 walk in 4 innings dropping his ERA from 4.62
to 4.34. Mike Garman was perfect in relief and got the save, his 15th.
The loss was charged to Dan Larson(2-5) in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 4
hits in 1 inning.

Right fielder Jeff Burroughs cracked 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Devault
Dynamiters manhandled the Marshallton Mad Hatters - the final score was 15-2.
Burroughs really 'lit it up' for Devault. He blasted a solo shot in the 1st
inning, banged out a single in the 3rd inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'
in the 4th inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the
5th inning and lined a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Devault bats were hot
in the 5th inning which saw them plate 9 runs on 8 hits. Devault finished
with 19 hits while Marshallton ended up with 9.
Tommy John(10-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. The losing pitcher was Tom Underwood(4-8). He was touched
for 6 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Roger Freed had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Honey Brook Beekeepers bested the
Chester Springs club 8-6 at Historic Village Park.
Honey Brook came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 8th
inning when they scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by
Freed who silenced Historic Village Park as he tripled bringing in two
baserunners. Chester Springs scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky
pitching kept them from victory.
Bob Knepper(4-8) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Joe
Kerrigan preserved the game for Knepper, recording his his 9th. Jack
Billingham(5-4) was hit with the loss in relief.

At Hickory Park the Glenmoore Stableboys outscored the Eagle Eagles 4-1.
Glenmoore drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
plating one baserunner. Dave Concepcion drew a walk. Warren Cromartie next
to the plate and he reached on an error. After an out was recorded, Richie
Hebner came to the plate and doubled. Steve Ontiveros dug into the batters
box next, but he struck out. Glenmoore totaled 9 hits on the night.
The win went to Bob Owchinko(5-8) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Owchinko was
helped out by Gene Garber who recorded his 14th save. Rick Reuschel(8-6) was
tagged with the loss.
LIONVILLE AT GUTHRIESVILLE

The Guthriesville Golddiggers easily topped the Lionville ballclub; the final
score was 9-3.
Guthriesville set the tone of the game in the first inning when they tallied 2
runs on 2 hits. Guthriesville had a total of 12 hits for the game.
Larry Christenson(6-9) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win.
Christenson got help from Larry Dierker who earned his 1st save. Craig
Swan(4-8) took the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 9 runs in 5 and
1/3 innings.
