8/3/77: Cabell Hits Go-ahead 3-Run Shot, Guthriesville Nips Lionville, 9-8

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:

Simba, for the umpteenth time this season - okay, well he has a club-leading 13 errors - threw the ball into the outfield. This time the errant throw allowed Thomas, who had already stolen 2nd, to come around 3rd and proceed home with what would prove to be the decisive run. Lousy starting pitching and poor fielding did us in. Kison had a foot in each of those bucket with 6 earned runs allowed in 6 innings and 2 errors. This game had me kicking the water cooler. If I can say something positive it would be that we only stranded 4. Oh, that and Ray Knight got his first bomb. He was really juiced about it. I like his fire.
