In a game at Historic Village Park, the Kimberton Firefighters got by the
Chester Springs ballclub by the score of 6-3.
Fred Norman(10-7) had a solid outing for Kimberton. He allowed 7 hits and 3
walks in 8 innings. Chester Springs threatened in the 9th but their rally
came up short.
The losing pitcher was Jerry Reuss(6-7). He surrendered 6 runs and 8 hits in
1 and 2/3 innings. Jim Ghoulach was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even
you guys up in the press box know why we lost this game. We made too many
mistakes.'

Timothy Jones went 8 and one third strong innings as the Glenmoore Stableboys
beat the Honey Brook Beekeepers by a score of 5-1.
Jones(1-0) had a strong outing. He allowed only 3 hits and 2 walks in 8 and
1/3 innings. Glenmoore finished with 11 hits while Honey Brook ended up with
3.
Jones got help from Gene Garber who earned his 16th save. Dave
Freisleben(2-11) absorbed the loss. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 10 hits and 1 walk.

1,433 fans watched an exciting game at Hickory Park. The Eagle Eagles topped
the Marshallton Mad Hatters by the slimmest of margins, 3-2.
Eagle erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 3
hits. Glenn Burke led off and keyed the rally when he delivered a base-hit.
Pete Rose followed next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. George Foster
then smashed a two-run homer. Dave Parker came up and he laced a single.
Dan Driessen stepped into the box and grounded into a double play.
Marshallton threatened in the 9th but Eagle was able to put down the rally.
Dick Ruthven(6-6) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Ruthven got help from Bill Atkinson who was credited with his 19th save.
Rawly Eastwick(4-5) was given the loss in relief.

Tommy John went the distance as the Devault Dynamiters outscored the
Guthriesville Golddiggers 8-2.
Devault had 5 runs cross the plate in the top of the 5th inning with the help
of 6 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Phil Garner who deflated the
spirits of the home town crowd when he doubled plating two runs. Devault had
12 hits for the night.
The win went to John(11-6) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Jim Kaat(8-6) was
charged with the loss. Devault knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 6
runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Randy Jones had a strong outing at Foster Field where the Lionville team beat
the Elverson Squires by the score of 9-0.
Ken Reitz had a good evening at the plate. He clubbed a three-run home run in
the 2nd inning and singled knocking in a run in the 6th inning. Lionville
banged out 9 hits on the night.
Jones(9-6) went the distance for the shutout. Jim Barr(5-13) suffered the
loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings.
'We didn't have a whole lot of chances tonight,' John Carney said. 'Jones
just was too much for our guys.'
