Jim Lonborg recorded a complete game shutout as the Kimberton Firefighters
defeated the Devault Dynamiters by a score of 3-0 at Great Valley Stadium.

Lonborg(8-6) was tremendous on the mound for Kimberton.  He gave up just 7
hits and no walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.85 to 4.47.
Kimberton totaled 8 hits on the night.  
 
Randy Lerch(6-16) took the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 8 hits in 6 and 1/3
innings.

Larry Bowa had 2 base hits and Jim Rooker had an impressive outing at Hickory
Park as the Chester Springs club beat the Eagle Eagles by the count of 7-1.
 
Rooker(11-6) escaped virtually unscathed against the Eagle hitters.  He
surrendered only 4 hits and no walks in 9 innings.  Chester Springs rapped
out 10 hits for the night.  
 
Pat Zachry(6-10) absorbed the loss.  Bob Phillips lamented, 'Rooker was really
aggressive tonight.  He kept coming after our hitters.  Heck, why not. he
kept sitting our guys down one after another - like so many bowling pins!'
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT HONEY BROOK

Designated hitter Gary Matthews had 2 base hits as the Honey Brook Beekeepers
topped the Guthriesville Golddiggers by a score of 7-4 at The Nest.
 
Mark Lemongello(9-10) pitched well for Honey Brook in their victory.  He went
6 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.  Honey Brook had 10 hits for the night
while Guthriesville had 6.  
 
Lemongello got help from Joe Kerrigan who earned his 10th save.  Stan
Bahnsen(5-4) was hit with the loss.  He allowed Honey Brook 6 runs in 5 and
2/3 innings of work.

Warren Cromartie had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Glenmoore Stableboys staged
a dramatic comeback over the Elverson Squires by a score of 4-3 at French
Creek Park.
 
Glenmoore came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
when they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by
Cromartie who quieted the home crowd when he doubled with all three runners
coming home.  The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th
inning.  
 
The victory went to Mario Soto(2-2) who went 2 innings, allowing 1 run. Gene
Garber gained credit for his 17th save.  Mike Garman(6-9) was the losing
pitcher in relief.  It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned
run in his 1 inning of work.  
 
John Carney was not very talkative after his team's tough loss.  'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Barry Bentley will be glad to talk about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
 
LIONVILLE AT MARSHALLTON

Garry Templeton collected 2 extra-base hits and had 4 RBI as the Marshallton
Mad Hatters outscored the Lionville team 11-3.
 
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Templeton.  He tripled bringing in a run in the 1st inning and
doubled plating three runs in the 7th inning.  Overall Marshallton out-hit
Lionville 14-9.  
 
The victory was credited to Odell Jones(6-2) who went 5 innings, allowing 2
runs. Eddie Solomon recorded his 1st save.  The losing pitcher was Craig
Swan(4-11).  He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3
innings.
