Joaquin Andujar(6-6) and Gene Pentz(6-6) dueled it out with Andujar and the
Devault Dynamiters coming out on top of the Eagle Eagles by the score of 3-1.
 
Devault had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning when they
had 3 base hits.  The big moment was provided by Jeff Burroughs who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled plating two runs.  Eagle tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  
 
Bruce Sutter recorded his 28th save.
 
GLENMOORE AT MARSHALLTON

First baseman Bill Buckner jacked one out of the ballyard as the Marshallton
Mad Hatters defeated the Glenmoore Stableboys 6-4 at Four Dogs Field.
 
Marshallton came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning with the help
of 3 hits.  Buckner kicked off the action when he reached on an error.
Rowland Office followed and he ripped a base-knock.  Leo Foster then doubled.
After an out was recorded, Gene Richards came to bat and doubled.  One out
later, Ken Griffey stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk to load the
bases.  Ron Cey joined his teammates in the uprising and drew a walk.  Steve
Yeager was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Marshallton out-hit
Glenmoore for the game, 10-6.  
 
Paul Moskau(4-6) went 5 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Rawly
Eastwick gained credit for his 3rd save.  Mario Soto(1-2) was the loser.  He
surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.  
 
LIONVILLE AT HONEY BROOK

Ted Simmons hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Lionville ballclub defeated the
league door-mat Honey Brook Beekeepers in 11 innings by a score of 9-7 at
The Nest.
 
Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Lionville
pulled the game out in the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Chris
Speier was the sparkplug when he drew a walk.  After another out, Simmons
came to bat and cracked a two-run shot.  Lionville and Honey Brook each
finished the night with 14 hits.  
 
The victory was credited to Ron Reed(6-5) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Reed got help from Joe Sambito who was credited with his 9th save.
Joe Kerrigan(1-5) was given the loss in relief.
