In a close game it was the Guthriesville Golddiggers 6, the Glenmoore
Stableboys 4 at Hopewell Field.
Steve Rogers(11-7) pitched a fine game. He allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 8
and 1/3 innings. Glenmoore made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable
to push the needed runs across.
Kent Tekulve earned the save, his 11th. Paul Reuschel(3-1) was the loser in
relief. Gary Scott was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good
contact, but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning
these tight ones! It was just our evening - no doubt about it!'

Bruce Sutter was strong in relief for Devault and Tony Perez left the yard at
Four Dogs Field as the Devault Dynamiters beat the Marshallton Mad Hatters 6-5.
Devault won the game with a run in the 8th inning. After an out was recorded,
Perez doubled. Bill Russell next to the plate and he stroked a base-hit.
Devault had a total of 12 hits for the game.
Woodie Fryman(1-0) went 7 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Fryman got
relief help from Sutter who gained credit for his 22nd save. Steve
Renko(0-4) ended up with the loss.

The Lionville team and the Eagle Eagles locked up in an exciting one-run game
at Hickory Park. The final score was the Lionville team 4, the Eagle Eagles
3.
Lionville scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning. Ken Reitz
lashed a single. Fernando Gonzalez came next and he grounded into a double
play. Jerry Morales then doubled. Ed Ott followed next and he drew a walk.
Joe Morgan came to the plate and ripped a single, and an error was also
committed. Both teams ended up with 11 hits on the night.
Don Collins(2-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Joe
Sambito gained credit for his 6th save. Randy Moffitt(2-6) took the loss in
relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 2
and 1/3 innings of work.
