Left fielder Dusty Baker slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Honey Brook
Beekeepers defeated the Kimberton Firefighters 5-1 at Kimberton Fairground.
 
Honey Brook took the lead for keeps in the 3rd inning scoring one runner.
After an out was recorded, Bill Almon tripled.  Dave Cash stepped up to the
plate and he would ground out.  That was all the offense they were to need.
Honey Brook and Kimberton each finished the afternoon with 12 hits.  
 
Mark Lemongello(7-6) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Dave
Campbell recorded his 6th save.  John Candelaria(9-8) was tagged with the
loss.  He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
 
ELVERSON AT DEVAULT

The Devault Dynamiters nipped the Elverson Squires 3-2 at Great Valley
Stadium in a hard fought contest.
 
Joaquin Andujar(4-5) pitched a solid game.  He went 6 and 1/3 innings
surrendering 8 hits and 2 walks improving his ERA from 4.48 to 4.28.  Devault
had a total of 10 hits for the game.  
 
Bruce Sutter earned the save, his 21st.  The loss was charged to Bob
Forsch(8-5).  He gave up 9 hits and no walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Andujar, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'

Gary Thomasson hit a home run and had 2 RBI as the Chester Springs club
defeated the Eagle Eagles 4-2 at Historic Village Park.
 
Jim Rooker(8-6) had a solid outing for Chester Springs.  He went 7 and 2/3
innings allowing 5 hits and 4 walks.  Chester Springs out-hit Eagle for the
game, 14-6.  
 
Rooker got help from Charlie Hough who earned his 19th save.  Rick
Reuschel(7-4) was the loser.  He was knocked around by Chester Springs,
allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.  
 
MARSHALLTON AT GLENMOORE

In a close game the Marshallton Mad Hatters got by the Glenmoore Stableboys 4-2.
 
Rawly Eastwick(4-4) pitched well in relief and was credited with the victory.
He surrendered only 3 hits and 1 walk in 4 and 1/3 innings.  Marshallton had
11 hits overall, while Glenmoore had 7.  
 
Eastwick got relief help from Rollie Fingers who gained credit for his 14th
save.  John Urrea(10-5) suffered the loss.  He pitched 6 innings allowing 7
hits and 4 walks.
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT LIONVILLE

The Guthriesville Golddiggers defeated the Lionville team by a score of 5-1
at Foster Field.
 
Jim Kaat(6-5) was solid if not spectacular.  He allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in
6 innings reducing his ERA from 5.12 to 4.87.  Guthriesville managed 9 hits
in their victory.  
 
Ken Forsch gained credit for his 4th save.  Craig Swan(3-6) ended up with the
loss.  He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 4 walks.
