Terry Harmon had 5 hits and 2 RBI as the Eagle Eagles topped the Honey Brook
Beekeepers by a score of 12-7 at Hickory Park.
 
Harmon enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He doubled in the 2nd inning,
ripped a base-knock plating a run in the 3rd inning, tripled knocking in a
run in the 5th inning, laced a base-knock in the 7th inning and lined a
one-base hit in the 8th inning.  Eagle kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.  
 
The winning pitcher was Dick Ruthven(3-3) who allowed 7 runs in 8 and 2/3
innings. Ray Burris(2-4) was hit with the loss.  He was unable to control the
Eagle offense and allowed 14 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

In a two run game the Elverson Squires got by the Marshallton Mad Hatters by
the score of 7-5.
 
Jim Barr(4-3) had a steady outing.  He surrendered 9 hits and 3 walks in 7 and
1/3 innings.  Marshallton scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky
pitching kept them from victory.  
 
Barr got relief help from Dave Heaverlo who gained credit for his 1st save.
Steve Renko(2-2) took the loss.  He surrendered 11 hits and 1 walk in 6
innings.  
 
The Elverson ballclub's record now stands at 17-19.  With the loss,
Marshallton has a record of 7-3 lately, 20-17 overall.
 
CHESTER SPRINGS AT GLENMOORE

The Glenmoore Stableboys put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning and
nipped the Chester Springs club 6-5 at Bentley Stadium in a hard fought
contest.
 
Rick Rhoden(2-0) pitched well enough to earn the win.  He went 8 innings
surrendering 10 hits and 2 walks.  Chester Springs threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.  
 
Gene Garber got the save, his 6th.  The loss was charged to Jack
Billingham(1-4).  'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us
tonight' Jim Ghoulach said.  'We take these games one day at a time, but this
one was hard to take.'
 
KIMBERTON AT GUTHRIESVILLE

Center fielder Jerry Mumphrey had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Kimberton
Firefighters defeated the Guthriesville Golddiggers 9-1 at Hopewell
Field.
 
Larry Demery(3-2) looked very much in control throughout the night. He was
stingy on the mound, allowing just 6 hits and no walks in 8 innings lowering
his ERA from 2.41 to 2.16.  Overall Kimberton out-hit Guthriesville 16 to 7.
 
Larry Dierker(1-6) was given the loss.  He was knocked around by Kimberton,
allowing 14 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
 
DEVAULT AT LIONVILLE

Joe Morgan had 5 hits and 2 RBI at Foster Field as the Lionville team beat the
Devault Dynamiters in 12 innings 10-9.
 
Both teams were tied at 9 runs apiece after nine innings.  Lionville won it in
the 12th inning.  Willie Davis smacked a single.  Jon Brams then called for a
steal which was successful.  Morgan then slapped a one-base hit making
Lionville the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  Lionville
kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits.
Lionville ended up with 21 hits for the game while Devault had 16.  
 
Ron Reed(5-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Dan Warthen(0-1) suffered the loss in relief.  He pitched
1/3 of an inning allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.
