May 10, 1976 Recaps

Steve Yeager touched them all and had 3 RBI at The Nest where the Marshallton
Mad Hatters (13-13) beat the Honey Brook Beekeepers (14-11) 8-1.
 
Yeager had a big day with his bat.  He tripled which was good for two runs in
the 1st inning, laced a one-base hit in the 6th inning and ripped a solo home
run in the 8th inning.  Marshallton ended up with 15 hits for the game while
Honey Brook had 8.  
 
The win was credited to Rob Dressler(1-0) who went 6 innings allowing 1 run.
Dressler was helped out by Adrian Devine who recorded his 2nd save.  Dave
Freisleben(1-3) suffered the loss.  He surrendered 7 runs and 14 hits in 8
innings.  
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT DEVAULT

Enos Cabell collected 2 extra-base hits as the Guthriesville Golddiggers (8-17) 
beat the Devault Dynamiters (14-10) by a score of 4-2.
 
Guthriesville went ahead for good in the top of the 2nd inning plating an
isolated run utilizing 2 base hits.  Guthriesville out-hit Devault for the
game, 9 hits to 6.  
 
Bob Apodaca(1-1) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Ken Forsch
recorded his 3rd save.  Woodie Fryman(3-1) was charged with the loss.  He
gave up 9 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.  
 
 
LIONVILLE AT CHESTER SPRINGS

Jose Cardenal had 2 base hits as the Chester Springs (12-14) club defeated the
Lionville (18-7) team in 12 innings by the score of 2-1 at Historic Village
Park to end the Tiger-Cats' winning streak at 8.
 
Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings.  Chester Springs ended
up winning it in the 12th inning.  Bobby Valentine laced a base-hit.  John
Stearns next to the plate and he doubled.  Rennie Stennett then singled
giving Chester Springs the win as 736 happy fans joyfully celebrated.
Overall Chester Springs out-hit Lionville 12 to 3.  
 
Joe Niekro(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ron
Reed(2-2) took the loss in relief.  He was unable to retire a batter giving
up 3 hits and no walks.
