7/9/77: Garvey, Harris Lead Elverson to 5-2 Win Over Lionville

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
13 hits - everybody got at least 1 - and a fat lot of good it does us. An epidemic of stranded baserunners - 14 to be exact. Take the 5th (inning) - please. We load the bases with 1 out and Clines and Morales strike out. And that wasn't the only time we left them loaded. Disgusting. Lefty wasn't really very good. He hasn't won a game in 3 weeks. We have a losing record now - and frankly it's hard not to be pessimistic. We are, sorry to say, playing like losers.

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
Total bat silence. Unbelievable! For the 2nd game in a row we waste a pretty good outing by a lower tier starter. And all this comes on a night Eagle and Devault combine for 33 runs. A couple of the guys told me they're having trouble picking up the ball out of the background. If that's the case, it's about time they overcome that.
