Zachry(8-7) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He surrendered only 7 hits and 4 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings lowering his ERA to 3.92. Eagle had a total of 8 hits for the game. Zachry got relief help from Randy Moffitt who gained credit for his 19th save. Steve Rogers(5-8) was the loser. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Zachry - except Guthriesville. Gary Scott lamented, 'He just was 'on' this afternoon. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!' 7/11/76: Lionville Annihilates Glenmoore, 23-1
Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
Well, that was kind of fun… What a way to go into the break! I don't think we need a break after that carnage - but the schedule says we have to take it. Joe started it with a dinger and the offense just kept going and going. As poorly as we treated Bonham last night, he got the royal treatment compared to what we gave to Rhoden today. But we still end up losing a half-game off our lead. So not everything came up roses for us today - despite the way it looked here at Foster. Not to look too far ahead but beginning a week after the break we play the Hatters 8 times in 10 days; that will be telling.
