Steve Ontiveros had 2 base hits and scored 4 times as the Glenmoore Stableboys
outscored the Devault Dynamiters 9-5.

Devault never recovered after Glenmoore took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd
inning with 3 runs on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Johnny Bench
kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Bake McBride was next and he
stroked a one-base hit. McBride swiped second base. Richie Hebner followed
and he reached on an error. One out later, Ontiveros stepped up to the plate
and he doubled. Barry Bonnell kept things alive and slapped a base-hit.
Glenmoore continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Devault
was not lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet
victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to
win ballgames.

Bill Bonham(11-7) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
Pedro Borbon recorded his 3rd save. Jackie Brown(3-8) took the loss. He got
hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 5 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

save. Larry Christenson(6-11) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 7 hits
and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Twitchell said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't
put the ball where I wanted it.'

the Eagle Eagles by the score of 5-3 at The Nest.

Honey Brook scored 3 runs in the decisive 4th inning when they had 4 base
hits. It was enough scoring to earn the victory. Eagle threatened in the
9th but Honey Brook was able to put down the rally.

The victory was credited to Koosman(11-8) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. The losing pitcher was Don Sutton(9-10).

Bob Phillips was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more

8/12/77: Martin, Reitz Give Lionville 8-7 Win Over Chester Springs in 10

Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
That was a doozy of a win - 2 comebacks! Wish I could say I really meant to drop Kenny Reitz to 8th in the order - but that's where he ended up - and it worked. This one kind of makes up for the first game of our series with them last week. But Lefty sure looked rusty coming off the DL. And for a second I thought he got hurt again. I wonder when he's going to be ready to give it another go …
