In an entertaining game at Hickory Park the final score was the Eagle Eagles
6, the Elverson Squires 3.
 
Mike Krukow(2-2) labored throughout the game but hung around to record a
victory.  He gave up 3 runs in 5 innings.  Eagle finished with 15 hits while
Elverson ended up with 9.  
 
Bill Atkinson recorded his 11th save.  Doug Rau(5-6) was charged with the
loss.

The Guthriesville Golddiggers easily topped the Marshallton Mad Hatters, 13-7.
 
Bob Apodaca(1-1) was given credit for the win.  He surrendered 3 hits and no
walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.  Guthriesville simply wore out the Marshallton
pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.  
 
Grant Jackson recorded the save, his 1st.  The loss was charged to Eddie
Solomon(3-5).  He was touched for 9 hits and 7 walks in 6 innings.

The Chester Springs club got by the Lionville ballclub at Foster Field, 5-3.
 
Chester Springs jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they
came up with 2 runs on 2 hits.  Chester Springs had just 5 hits for the
night.  
 
Phil Niekro(8-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Manny Sarmiento was credited with his 1st save.  Steve Carlton(10-4) ended up
with the loss.  
 
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Niekro said.
