Tiger-Cats manager Jon Brams:
Mike Schmidt is a guy you just can't make mistakes when facing. Both Jones and Leon made one, in the 6th and 8th, respectively. Schmidt makes them pay, and we don't recover. Joe is on a tear, though - 5 dingers in the last 4 games! He's fun to watch now.

hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Rose who made the crowd happy
when he lashed a single which was good for two runs. Although they lost,
Kimberton did out-hit Eagle 14-11.
The win went to Don Stanhouse(6-6) who allowed 4 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.

the slimmest of margins, 3-2 over the Guthriesville Golddiggers.
Buddy Schultz(5-3) gave a fine effort for Marshallton. He went 6 and 2/3
innings and surrended up 5 hits and 3 walks. Schultz mowed down 7
Guthriesville batters. Guthriesville had a chance in the 9th but they came
up short.
Rollie Fingers got the save, his 22nd. Grant Jackson(6-5) was hit with the
loss in relief. 'Some losses are harder to take than others' Gary Scott

inning, lined a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, smashed a two-run homer in
the 4th inning and stroked a single bringing in a run in the 6th inning.
Glenmoore kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning with 4 runs.

8/22/77: Lionville Rides 19 Hits to 13-4 Thumping of Elverson
Tiger-Cats manager: Jon Brams:
Torrid hitting continued. Everybody gots hits. In fact, everybody but Davey Johnson got multiple hits! Morgan, Reitz, and most especially Speier were great at the plate. Speier had 2 doubles and a homer. It was a bumpy ride for Lefty on the mound - 72 pitches in the first 3 innings. He allowed back to back homers in the 6th. The 4th and the 5th were the only innings in which he looked like himself. But he still gets his 15th win.
