GUTHRIESVILLE AT EAGLE

Jim Kaat was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game and center fielder Cesar Cedeno had 3 base hits as the Guthriesville
Golddiggers defeated the Eagle Eagles by the score of 8-2 at Hickory
Park.
 
Guthriesville jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 3 hits.  Guthriesville managed 14 hits in their victory.
 
Kaat(1-0) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Rick Reuschel(0-1)
was the loser.  He got hit hard, allowing 7 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.  
 
 
ELVERSON AT CHESTER SPRINGS

John Milner had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Elverson Squires defeated the
Chester Springs club 3-0 at Historic Village Pk.
 
Elverson jumped on top of Chester Springs in the 4th inning scoring a single
run on 2 hits.  Mike Tyson tripled.  Mike Schmidt stepped up next and he drew
a walk.  After an out was recorded, Milner came to bat and laced a single.
Ken Henderson was the next batter, but he struck out.  Elverson had only 4
hits for the game.  
 
The victory was credited to Doug Rau(1-0) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Rau got help from Al Hrabosky who was credited with his 1st save.
Phil Niekro(0-1) suffered the loss.  
 
 
GLENMOORE AT LIONVILLE

Greg Luzinski slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at Foster Field where the
Lionville ballclub beat the Glenmoore Stableboys 11-3.
 
Luzinski had a good evening at the plate.  He laced a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, slapped a base-hit which brought home a run in the 2nd inning and
lofted a three-run bomb in the 6th inning.  Lionville ended up with 11 hits
for the game while Glenmoore had 6.  
 
The victory went to Burt Hooton(1-0) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs. Bill
Bonham(0-1) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings allowing
7 hits and 2 walks.
