Doug Rau(4-4) and Rick Rhoden(2-1) dueled it out with Rau and the Elverson
Squires coming out on top of the Glenmoore Stableboys by the score of 3-0.
 
Elverson came up with all the runs they needed in the 3rd inning when they
tallied 3 runs on 3 hits.  That was all the runs Rau needed.  Neither team
managed to score after the 3rd inning.  
 
Dave Heaverlo got the save, his 2nd.
 
GUTHRIESVILLE AT HONEY BROOK

Dave Freisleben tossed a shutout as the Honey Brook Beekeepers defeated the
Guthriesville Golddiggers by the score of 5-0 at The Nest.
 
Freisleben(2-3) was in control of the game from the outset.  He allowed only 5
hits and 3 walks in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 5.76 to 4.42.  Honey
Brook had only 6 hits for the game.  
 
Larry Dierker(1-7) was the loser.  He allowed 5 runs and 4 hits in 5 and 1/3
innings.
 
EAGLE AT KIMBERTON

Bob Watson touched them all as the Kimberton Firefighters topped the Eagle
Eagles by a score of 5-4 at Kimberton Fairground.
 
Kimberton took the lead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring one
runner utilizing 2 base hits.  Eagle had a chance to come back in the 9th but
they came up short.  
 
Dan Larson(2-1) got the win allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Skip Lockwood earned
his 8th save.  The loss was charged to Dick Ruthven(3-4).  'I had a little
blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.'
Larson said.  'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where
I wanted it.'

Right fielder Dave Kingman blasted 2 homeruns at Great Valley Stadium as the
Devault Dynamiters pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Chester Springs
club by the count of 4-3.
 
Devault scored the winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 3 hits.
After an out was recorded, Craig Reynolds jump-started the rally as he
doubled.  Darrell Evans came next and he drew a walk.  Ted Kubiak then
doubled.  Garry Maddox stepped in and he was walked intentionally to load the
bases.  Bob Bailey came up to bat and laced a single.  Devault had 8 hits for
the night.  
 
The winning pitcher was Tom Griffin(2-2) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an
inning. Tom Seaver(4-2) was hit with the loss.  While he was the losing
pitcher, he still struck out 13 batters in 8 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'What a win!', Griffin said.  'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
 
LIONVILLE AT MARSHALLTON

The Lionville team defeated the Marshallton Mad Hatters by a score of 6-2
at Four Dogs Field.
 
Craig Swan(2-2) put on a good performance.  He didn't allow much, just 5 hits
and 1 walk in 8 innings.  Offensively, Lionville was a juggernaut.  They
scored in 6 separate innings.  
 
Steve Renko(2-3) took the loss.  He gave up 7 hits and 6 walks in 6 and 1/3
innings.
