Santo Alcala(2-2) shut down the Kimberton Firefighters hitters at Kimberton
Fairground in 13 innings. The Honey Brook Beekeepers came away with a 1-0
victory.
The score was knotted at zero after nine innings. Finally, Honey Brook
prevailed in the 13th inning. Cesar Geronimo stroked a base-hit. Jay
Johnstone next to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Gary Matthews
then lined a one-base hit. After another out, Doug Rader came up and he
delivered a single. Honey Brook had 11 hits for the night.
Tug McGraw recorded the save, his 7th. The losing pitcher was Mike
Wallace(1-1) in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings giving up 1 hit and no
walks.

Right fielder Ken Griffey had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Marshallton Mad
Hatters topped the Devault Dynamiters by a score of 7-5 at Great Valley
Stadium.
Steve Renko(4-3) had a fairly solid outing. He was reached for 10 hits and 1
walk in 6 and 2/3 innings. Marshallton totaled 12 hits on the night.
Rawly Eastwick earned his 14th save. Jon Matlack(5-2) absorbed the loss. He
pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 5 walks.

Dave Winfield had 2 base hits at Historic Village Park where the Chester
Springs team beat the Elverson Squires by the score of 6-4.
Chester Springs took the lead for good in the 3rd inning when they scored 2
runs on 2 hits. Chester Springs and Elverson each finished the night with 9
hits.
The win was credited to Bob Moose(2-1) who went 5 innings allowing 4 runs.
Charlie Hough gained credit for his 12th save. Doug Rau(5-5) ended up with
the loss.

The Glenmoore Stableboys had very little trouble at Hopewell Field downing the
hopeless Guthriesville Golddiggers. The score was 6-1.
Glenmoore tallied 5 runs in the 5th inning when they had 5 base hits. The key
at-bat was by Johnny Bench who silenced the crowd when he rifled a three-run
blast. For the game Glenmoore out-hit Guthriesville 10-5.
John Montefusco(7-4) got the win allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Jim Kaat(2-8)
was given the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 6 runs in 4 and 2/3
innings.
LIONVILLE AT EAGLE

Left fielder Greg Luzinski had 4 hits at Hickory Park where the Lionville
ballclub beat the Eagle Eagles 9-6.
Eagle never recovered after Lionville took the lead in the 2nd inning as they
scored 2 runs on 2 base hits. Lionville dominated offensively as they scored
in 6 different innings.
Randy Jones(11-1) went 7 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Ron Reed
preserved the game for Jones, recording his his 5th. Pat Zachry(4-4) took
the loss. He had trouble throwing strikes and issued 8 walks in 5 innings.
